Singapore executes low-IQ Malaysian man on drugs charge.

In 2009, Nagaenthran was apprehended while crossing into Singapore from Malaysia with a 43g (1.5oz) heroin strapped to his left thigh.

Under Singapore's drug laws which is among the hardest drug law around the world, anyone caught with a heroin that weighs more than 15g will be facing a death penalty.

According to report, the 34-year-old  Nagaenthran during his trial claimed he was forced into carrying the drugs, however he later stated he had indulged in the act  due to the fact that he wanted money.

The court stated his preliminary defence was "fabricated" therefore he was sentenced to death by hanging. According to report, Nagaenthran has appealed to have his sentence commuted to life in prison in 2015 on the idea that he suffered from an mental disability but he was not given that opportunity.

His lawyer had appealed that the execution of a mentally challenged person is unlawful and that it is prohibited under international human rights law but this also did did not change anything.
